Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) is used to interrupt pain signals coming from your knee, hip, shoulder, and sacroiliac joints. This procedure does not require sedation, but if you prefer to have sedation, please let our team know.

Some other helpful things to know:

  • There is no reason to fast before this procedure
  • If you are taking a blood thinner, this needs to be discussed before scheduling the procedure
  • The procedure takes about 30 minutes
